Days at Casa Maria

View from Our Bedroom
On the Costa Maya (in the Yucatan near Belize) just north of a town called Mahahual, lies the idyllic sites of el Placer and Rio Indio with Casa Maria.  Golden sunrises and sunsets, palm trees swaying, wind gently whistling through the screen and the blue, blue Caribbean beckoning for a swim.

Oh my!  It's great to be back. (Casa Maria)

We had a great dinner at Nonoch Kay..just incredible....4 people for
350 pesos mexicanos. Take a look at the choice of fish we had....hm...which one???

Well, we chose the nearest one because it was the Hogfish (Boquinete).  We had heard the it was the tastiest fish in the reef.  It wasn't until later that we found out that it was endangered.

It was served with rice in a ring, tarter sauce in a pepper zigzag cut, a salad of many, many items AND AND a row of beautifully cut tomato rings, and carrots made into flowers, etc.  Just lovely, and even more delicious.

Our friends, the Brooks, enjoying the fish.
